The Funshine Story
The Funshine mission is to produce a community of creativity and engagement. We gather teachers, learners, children and families who value, respect and nurture one another. Social, emotional, cognitive, language and physical development is the cornerstone of the school.
With a sixty-two space limit for children eighteen months to five years, and the highest level of care and trust, the experienced team at Funshine fosters an early learning experience where children learn and grow. Helping to build a strong foundation for a lifetime of inquisitiveness and a passion for learning means kids share questions and wonder, inquire and explore.
We value the Reggio Emilia approach and the emergent curriculum model of learning, where educators engage with children and discover what interests them. Our curriculum is then developed and guided by that process. The environment is inviting and thought provoking, encouraging children to explore. Each child brings their own unique knowledge to the environment. Our goal is to help shape independent, creative, confident, solution-seeking explorers – to set children on their way to being great human beings.
Funshine is an established, community loved nursery school serving the Northern Dutchess County region, in New York‘s Hudson Valley, and celebrating over three decades in operation.
